About CASA Jefferson:
Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) began in 1976 as a result of a judge who felt he needed more factual information in order to make important decisions in the lives of children and families involved in abuse and neglect cases. Since that time, million of chidlren have been served nationally by CASA Advocates.

Established in 1989, CASA Jefferson strives to achieve its mission. Pre-servie training sessions are scheduled quarterly. Each 40hour session includes topics to prepare the advocate for this very specialized form of volunteer service. Potential advocates are screened through criminal background checks and the Child Abuse Registry.
