CASA is the link between where a child is and where
he wants to be.
CASA Jefferson was initiated in 1986 under the judicial administration
of Juvenile Court Judges.
In 1989, the organization hired the first program coordinator
and began a recruitment campaign. Additional growth came about
in 2001 under the judicial administration of Scott Griffith
and en banc decision of Judges Nancy Amato Konrad, Ann Murry
Keller and Andrea Price Janzen. With CVA-VOCA (Crime Victim's
Assistance/Victims of Crime Act) and TANF (Temporary Aid to
Needy Families), the program expanded to nine employees and
more than 70 advocates. Staff and volunteers work diligently
to find assistance for each child in the system.
